# Glossary

**Alias**: a client's random two-word name, like "Silver Fox", used in groups, games and boards. Different at each business.

**App**: a web page a developer hosts, shown as a tab inside Facia. See [Build on Facia](https://docs.facia.chat/build/overview).

**App secret**: `fas_…`. Signs the token and authorises partner calls. Server-side only.

**Block**: a page, poll, announcement, mission or raffle spin composed in HQ without code. See [Blocks](https://docs.facia.chat/business/blocks).

**Bundle**: Support, Community or Club. A quick set of feature switches.

**Business**: one brand on Facia. Same as a **server**.

**Channel**: a one-way chat where only the team posts.

**Client**: a person your business supports.

**Coins**: a per-client balance for games and rewards. Not money.

**Conversation**: a stretch of a support chat. A new one starts after a quiet gap.

**Deal**: a payment agreed in a conversation, read by the AI.

**Embed**: Facia inside your own website or app. See [Embed Facia](https://docs.facia.chat/setup/embed).

**Feature**: a built-in part of Facia you switch on. See [Features](https://docs.facia.chat/business/features).

**Group**: a community chat where clients talk under aliases.

**Guest**: a client without a login yet.

**Handle**: your business's `@name`, used in `facia.chat/@handle` and `handle.facia.chat`.

**HQ**: the staff control room at `/hq`.

**Internal note**: a message only your team sees.

**Kill switch**: an app's on/off switch in HQ. Off stops its tab and API at once.

**Level**: a client's loyalty level, from counted payments.

**Listed app**: an app approved for every business to install.

**Mission**: a block with a goal and a coin reward.

**Mount**: where a block or app shows: header, membership, Verified group or hub.

**Partner API**: the HTTP API your app's server calls. See [Partner API](https://docs.facia.chat/build/partner-api).

**Portal**: facia.chat itself, with a switcher for people in several businesses.

**Proposal**: a change the AI suggests, which you approve or decline.

**Reporter**: the built-in (non-AI) bot that posts reports and waiting alerts.

**Server**: a business on Facia, as named on the front page.

**Spam**: a team-only tier label. Spam clients get no extras.

**Style**: Classic or Futuristic. The visual treatment.

**`sub`**: the client's id at one business, in the app token.

**Tier**: Guest, Verified, VIP or Spam.

**Tone**: a block's colour role: Quiet, Accent, Good news, Heads up, VIP gold.

**Verified**: a client who confirmed their email and picked a username.

**VIP**: a top-tier client, by level or invitation. Gold in Facia means VIP.

**Workspace**: the team account behind one or more businesses.
